Movie Summarize:

"A glimmering spectacle, brimming with action, a fiery commercial movie. Jeet's 'Chhengiz' narrates the tale of Jaydeb Singh, who transforms into a gangster and his adventurous criminal endeavors. 'Chhengiz' is the one who conquers the unfamiliar and the unknown, someone without any boundaries. Jeet's dialogue in 'Chhengiz' is not just a day but an era. In the film, Jeet portrays a gangster, a 'mafia don' named 'Chhengiz.' And it is with the help of 'Boss' that he attains freedom for the first time from Bengali cinema in this pan-India movie. If not anything else, 'Chhengiz' has undoubtedly created a spectacle in history."

"Right from the beginning, it's a football match, although there's a story of 'match-fixing' behind the game. And there comes the explosive entry of 'Chhengiz' - Jeet. With blood-soaked soil and soaked in blood, 'Chhengiz' became colorful. And right after that, through a flashback triggered by Police Officer Sameer Singh's statement to a young journalist, unfolds the tale of Jaydeb Singh's transformation into 'Chhengiz.' When you keep an eye on the film, you can understand that it's a story from the mid-70s to 90s. The film's story revolves around three drug mafias vying for control in the city. Among them is the battle for the throne. Despite entering the underworld, 'Chhengiz' Jeet ascends to the throne. And then, the story moves forward with revenge as the driving force, culminating in a bloody battle."

"When you watch the movie, it's evident that the primary shooting took place in Kolkata, featuring various locations like Kolkata's ghats, Khidirpur, Park Circus, and more. From the yellow taxis to the racecourse, from Dock Area to Mohanbagh Ground, and Lalbazar, there are many recognizable places. However, the narrative lacks sufficient depth and research in some aspects. The timing and details of the South Esplanade's bridge and Mohanbagh Ground floodlight in the story don't seem accurate. Not only that, the lack of attention to detail is evident in the film overall.

The motivation of the gangster 'Chhengiz' in the movie isn't entirely clear. The purpose he came with gets fulfilled in the early part of the film. Why does 'Chhengiz' leave the underworld afterward is not explicitly explained. This aspect remains unclear in the screenplay. The entire film revolves around 'Chhengiz' as the central character. There's also a love story featuring Jit's co-star Susmita Chatterjee, but the romance scenes with Jit are not emphasized much in the movie.

The most significant aspect of this commercial and action-packed film is its dialogues. There are no memorable or impactful dialogues without a few exceptions. The second part of the movie is relatively longer and could have been condensed a bit for better execution."

"No, saying that would be wrong and unfair. In the movie's action scenes, Jeet appears just like the audience would expect. With a powerful masculine demeanor, he has captivated the viewers entirely. Jeet's delivery of dialogues is excellent. His acting is praiseworthy as well. His wardrobe, beard, attitude, and hairstyle, everything suits him well. Even in the energetic dance performances in the catchy songs, Jeet is outstanding. Susmita Chatterjee, as Jeet's co-star, didn't have much to do, but her presence alongside Jeet on screen didn't feel uncomfortable at all. Rohit Roy as Police Officer Sameer Singh, Shataf Figar, Biswajit Bhowmik, and other significant characters have also portrayed their respective roles impressively."

Even though there might be some mistakes, 'Vikhi's' claims about this movie ruling the box office after overcoming those flaws seem valid. In the context of Bengali cinema, such action-packed commercial movies have never been made before. While South Indian movies like 'Pushpa' and 'KGF' glorify gangster stories with action-oriented plots, comparing 'Chhengiz' with those movies wouldn't be fair due to the difference in budget. The budget for South Indian movies is almost ten times higher than that of 'Chhengiz.' Yet, Jeet managed to deliver a remarkable performance within the 10-crore budget.

Besides standing beside Salman Khan's 'Kisi Ka Bhai Kisi Ki Jaan' at the box office, 'Chhengiz' has also achieved a release in Hindi alongside its Bengali release. Without relying on politics or other influences, a Bengali star, Jeet, as a producer, has released 'Chhengiz' in nearly 1,100 theaters across the country. Whether the movie will be commercially successful in the industry will only be known in the future. Nevertheless, by taking on 'Chhengiz,' Jeet has shown the courage to do something new in the Bengali film industry and take the first step towards the South Indian film's path. Taking some risks in this endeavor can't be considered wrong.
