In this movie, the stories of Dasharath, Kaushalya, Kaikeyi, and Sumitra have not been shown, focusing instead on how Ravana deceitfully abducted Sita. The film portrays the episode of Ram's exile and the epic battle between Ram and Ravana, which has been recreated by Om Raut.
As per the Mahakavya (epic), Ram had sent a messenger for Janaki (Sita) to bring her back home. This movie captures the essence of the epic battle between Ram and Ravana. It shows how Ram, along with Lakshman, Hanuman, Sugriva, and the Vanara Sena, goes to Lanka to defeat Ravana and rescue Sita. Prabhas, Sunny Singh, and Devdatta Nage have performed CGI-assisted combat scenes against Ravana's demon army.
Making a movie based on one of India's greatest epics is no easy task. Om Raut struggled to strike the right balance between storytelling and presentation. Some dialogues in the movie have faced criticism, like the usage of "Adharma Ka Vadhans" (killing of unrighteousness) and "Tere Baap Ki Jageer Nahi Marega" (You won't die on your father's property). These dialogues created a lack of emotional connection between the audience and the characters in the first half of the movie. However, the pace picked up in the second half, making the movie more interesting.
