"The Kashmir Files" is based on the story of the murder of Kashmiri Pandit Satish Tickoo by JKLF militants. It shows how bloodthirsty militants targeted and brutally murdered Hindu Pandits in Kashmir. They annihilated entire families. After subjecting daughters and daughters-in-law to gang rape, they tore apart their bodies. Even children weren't spared. Pushkar Nath Pandit (Anupam Kher) is the protagonist of this film. In the first part of the movie, his family and their ordeal under merciless torture resonate with the turmoil in the hearts of Kashmiri Pandits. The second part elucidates what has transpired and remains relevant today, even though it's in the past. The wound still bleeds when touched, the bloodied stream of oppression flows from that scar. The present generation of Kashmiri Pandits, even though moved on, hasn't forgotten the days of that torment.
