"Hamja returns home in a drunken state every day. Under the grip of anger, his wife physically abuses him. After watching the trailer, it seemed that the movie "Darlings" might be a dark comedy or a thrilling suspense. However, it's not habitual. Instead, this story has been woven in a very straightforward manner. This battle is not between men and women but between the oppressor and the oppressed. The plot and acting in "Darlings" are strong enough. However, the storytelling could have been slightly better. The film's editing is not flawless either. Most of the scenes are shot within the confines of a house. The pacing of the narrative is somewhat sluggish. The climax of the movie also leaves a bit to be desired. However, the small details are outstanding. For instance, a lady in the parlor is gently applying Mehndi to a hesitant girl's hand, and in the adjacent room, someone is scolding Badru while asking him to cut vegetables – these scenes beautifully capture the dual mentality of society.
