Movie Summarize:

In the kitchen, Shri finds happiness. Reba, the renowned culinary artist, is her source of inspiration. She is a connoisseur of Indian, Chinese, Continental, Mexican, Japanese, Italian, or fusion cuisines. Every type of cuisine imaginable is cooked by her expert hands. While striving to be the perfect homemaker, Shri sometimes overlooks herself. Thus, perhaps she can't keep up with the graceful Mallika.

However, she is beautiful in her own way. But Shri's life undergoes a complete transformation when she starts comparing herself with others. She pays attention to external appearances as advised by her mother-in-law and sister-in-law. Going to the gym, attending Bollywood dance classes, and dieting, she loses her true happiness. The kitchen that once gave her pure joy becomes neglected. The constant stream of busyness replaces the daily phone calls with Reba, and even upon hearing about her deteriorating health, she doesn't pick up the phone once. Shri becomes so engrossed in herself that she fails to find the time to shatter her husband's invincible ego during moments of his unreasonable pride. Gradually, she starts losing herself bit by bit from within.

In reality, everyone tries to bring about a little change in their everyday life sometimes, amidst the routine. But if the soul of a person isn't content with that change, then what's the point? Joining the race of competitiveness by looking at others is meaningless. Instead, if someone remains happy with a little extra weight on their body, broken English, and a somewhat imperfect heart, then they should just stay that way. What harm does it do? This is the question raised by 'Shrimoti' (a respectful term for a married woman). Swastika Mukhopadhyay, in her personal life, has repeatedly broken societal norms. Through this picture, the actress conveys the message of not changing oneself.

Shrimoti' is not a story of being lost all at once. Instead, it's a tale of rediscovering oneself anew. Devyani Chattopadhyay has portrayed the immensely significant character in the film. She shows Shri, who has lost her way, finding her path back to love once again. Even in Reba's death, Shri had shattered further. However, Reba has shown her a new direction even after departing.

In the film, Swastika Mukhopadhyay's acting is impeccable. Soham Chakraborty has also delivered a convincing performance. Trina Saha plays the role of Shri's sister-in-law, while Devyani Basu portrays the role of her mother-in-law. Uday Pratap Singh does quite well as the gym trainer. At one point, it seemed that there could be a romantic relationship between him and Shri. However, without revealing that, director Arjun Dutt has brought a good twist to the story. Khayaa Chattopadhyay's character as Kajal, Shrimoti's shadow companion, is quite subtle.

"The film's story somewhat resembles 'Old Wine in a New Bottle.' However, the director has beautifully presented it all. In some places, the pace of the story has slowed down. A touch of nostalgia has been brought in. Nevertheless, Arjun has made an effort to cut through it within moments. If you're in the mood for a family movie weekend, you can definitely book tickets for 'Shrimoti'."
