Movie Summarize:

In his desire for a son's succession, former Indian wrestler Mahabir Phogat (Amir Khan) spent his days, as he believed his son would bring home the gold in wrestling on the international stage for India. However, fate had other plans. His wife (portrayed by Sakshi Tanwar) gave birth to four daughters.

Repeatedly faced with disappointments from his own dreams, Mahavir had bid farewell. However, a single incident within a day rekindled hope in Mahavir. His two daughters, Geeta (portrayed by Fatima Sana Shaikh) and Babita (portrayed by Sanya Malhotra), had fiercely beaten up two boys who had pinned them from behind.

Mahavir said to his wife, 'Why should boys be less, my dear? ... Gold should be gold, whether it's a boy or a girl... Sons bring profit, you see, dear. (Are my daughters less than sons... Gold is still gold... whether they are girls or boys).' And thus began a new battle. Because 'A seed doesn't grow under a model's feet... they need to water it, nurture it... love, dedication... efforts, attention...'.

Thereafter, Mahavir, the father, continues to break societal norms and prepare girls for wrestling battles.

I didn't even see Amir Khan in a single scene. Who would say the movie 'Dangal' is about Amir Khan? From the first scene to the last, it's all about Mahavir Phogat. This wrestling village, the rustic setting, the mud paths, the rough training, it's not just makeup. Without those cauliflower ears, those worn-out hands, those calloused knuckles, there's no way to recognize Amir.

Even though Mahavir Phogat is referred to as an unsuccessful wrestler, as a husband and as the father of four daughters, the director of the film Amir, along with the photographer, has expertly captured the success that Mahavir has achieved.

This film has successfully met both criteria. It's a straightforward and solid film about wrestling. It will inspire you, but it won't compromise on entertainment or enjoyment. The scent of soil is present in this film. Many technical nuances of wrestling are depicted, which are not usually shown in Bollywood films. In terms of the lead actor's field, such risky nuances are not common. But here comes the unique Amir Khan.

The second message was strong feminism, which conveys that girls are no less than boys in any aspect. In the patriarchy of Haryana, there's no power to accept this truth. Even where being a girl still leads to 'normal incidents' like getting killed. Fathers and uncles don't hesitate to sacrifice boys and girls to save their own honor.

In the roles of young Geeta and Babita, Zaira Wasim and Suhani Bhatnagar are impeccable. Their portrayal of the reluctance to practice under their father's pressure, amidst the desire to play in their childhood, is so beautifully portrayed by both of them. And Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra have provided a suitable complement to Amir Khan.
