Movie Summarize:

The protagonist of this story, although he identifies himself as Feluda, is actually named Krishanu. This choice of name is due to the fact that Krishanu doesn't quite resonate with the persona of TinTin. In his world, various cartoon characters inhabit his space, and by observing his home, you would instantly understand. The walls are adorned with a variety of graffiti and cartoon-style illustrations.

Now, this Krishanu goes to college and falls in love. His affections are directed towards Rohini, a smart and beautiful class topper. When the protagonist and the leading lady meet, their relationship evolves from friendship to love without any significant suspense. However, after their romantic involvement begins, the true struggles of TinTin and Rohini's life take off.

The boy from Kolkata's Kalighat, TinTin, has a father named Goblu Chatterjee (also known as Kharaj Mukhopadhyay), and a mother, Uchchashikha Pubali (Anjana Basu), who is well-educated. Goblu Chatterjee of Kalighat has left his former lover behind and married. Starting from Mohanbagan, their love story has no connection with any "Chidring Ilish" (a type of fish).

On the other side, in the T Estate, there is the estate's senior officer, Asim (Komaleshwar Mukhopadhyay), and his wife Semonti (June Malia), with their only daughter Rohini. At the end of college, Rohini and Krishanu decide to bridge the conversation gap between these two families. Rohini's bond is stronger with her mother, while her father, Asim, is a workaholic and somewhat stern. Krishanu visits his parents with various excuses to see Rohini's family, and this causes unrest from that point on.

In this context, the mother of the protagonist, that is Anjana Basu, sits in a contemplative manner at the wedding. However, the story holds a significant twist, revealing how in the end, Rohini and Asim, that is, Rohini's father, win over Krishanu's mother's heart. To discover this twist, you must watch the movie, but within this entire story, there lies a massive twist.

Right from the beginning, this movie feels like a delightful and sweet love story. From college romance to singing, dancing, and intense emotions, it's packed with romance. Dev's transformation into an unrecognizable figure as TinTin is remarkable. His extra hair and glasses will grab your attention. In this film, Dev and Rukmini's off-screen romance translates into an on-screen one with full vigor. However, the true heart of this whole movie, the real show-stealer, is Kharaj Mukhopadhyay. With every dialogue that comes from his lips, he compels the audience to applaud. Equally impressive is Anjana Basu and Komaleshwar Mukhopadhyay's unmatched acting. Jun Malia, however, did not have much to do. A bit more character development could have made a difference. Nevertheless, the entire movie revolves around a flashback story from the 80s. That's where the real twist lies. The way Rukmini's character narrates her experiences in a retro style presents a unique perspective for the viewers.

The film carries four songs, ranging from various moods, and the song "Tok Tui Bolbo Na Tumi" has become quite a hit. But within the narrative of "Kishmish," the essence of Arijit Singh's "Aboshe She Bhalobese" is hidden. In terms of music composition, Niloyan Chatterjee has done a good job for the first movie.

For direction, in the first film, Director Rahul Mukhopadhyay will receive a passing grade. To capture the moments through Kolkata's aesthetics and the film's lighting from the 80s, credit goes to cinematographer Modhura Palit. The comedic timing and puns are exceptionally well executed. However, in terms of the storyline, it could be said that a bit more of theatrical acting might have been needed. Viewers might sometimes find parallels with other Hindi films.

However, in the midst of the crisis in the Bengali film industry, the market for light-hearted, sweet love stories, like "Kishmish," goes hand in hand with southern cinema, and it is a smart move to have roped in Dev as the producer. In short, in this film, whether he is a producer or an actor, Dev shines in every aspect. If he were to take a flying leap, he would pass with flying colors. "Kishmish" is a movie that embraces the idea of spending quality time with your loved ones.
