Movie Summarize:

In the water and on the land, the duo of a tiger and a crocodile make the Sundarbans quite fearsome. However, that fear is further heightened by the actions of the notorious Huzja Gang. They entangle young girls in the web of love and involve them in trafficking. Emerging from the Mangrove region, day after day, the young men associated with the infamous gang continue to kidnap one young girl after another in the area. The situation compels Officer Animish Datta of the Special Crime Branch to go beyond the jurisdiction of local administration.

Ten years ago, Animesh (played by Shwashwata Chattopadhyay) was seen in the movie 'Praloy'. Currently, his wife is Indrani and his son is Barun, a studious boy. Animesh, who used to chase criminals, now leads a more domestic life. He intimidates his wife considerably as he carries out his duties. However, it's in his habit to be an officer. So, trusting in the 'Duty First' principle, faithful Animesh bids farewell to Kolkata and heads towards the Sundarbans.

Upon arriving there, Animesh gains a clear understanding of the Huzja Gang. He gets acquainted with Shambhu Baba (played by Ritwik Chakraborty), Mohini Ma (Kaushani Mukherjee), Nurse Shampa (Sayani Ghosh), Kanu (Gaurav Chakraborty), and Paritosh Sarkar (Loknath De). Local police officer Karali Babu (Parth Bhoumik) and Constable Madhavir (Sohini Sengupta) begin the investigation with him. Animesh starts examining each character in his own style, aiming to decipher everyone's motives. In this way, he gradually identifies the real culprits and distinguishes himself as an officer of the Special Crime Branch.

Now let's delve into the acting aspect. Just like Shwashwata Chattopadhyay, Abhinoy is commendable. He was also seen in the role of Markatari in 'Praloy'. Over a decade, his character seems to have become even more robust. Animesh takes on the hooligans single-handedly. He even performs action scenes with a boat or a torch in hand, showcasing his acting skills in scenes loved by Bengali audiences. He has risen as the 'Super Cop'. His signature dialogues leave a lasting impact on the viewer's mind.

Just like in the movie 'Praloy,' Partha Bandopadhyay, aka Binodvihari, is also present in the series 'Abar Proloy'. However, he hasn't received much screen time as in the previous film. Though he has acted in a few scenes, he is a veteran actor of Bengali theater. Especially, his hunched shoulder gesture will evoke memories of 'Praloy'. Talking about the third character, it has to be Ritwik Chakraborty. Before the series' release, there was quite a debate over Shambhu Baba's character. Many claimed that Raj has shaped this character like Pankaj Tripathi's role in 'Sacred Games.' However, Ritwik has portrayed the character in his own style.

Gaurav Chakraborty and Kaushani Mukherjee have done quite well in their roles in 'Abar Proloy'. Sayani's performance has caught attention as well. Sohini Sengupta's comedic timing is outstanding. In the dark series, her chemistry with Shwashwata Chattopadhyay brings a unique flavor. However, praise must also be given to the state minister, Parth Bhoumik. He has been associated with the theater world for a long time. Now, he has showcased his talent in the series as well. In the character of Karali Babu, he stands out.

Raj Chakrabarty, showcasing his charisma, has created the entertaining web series 'Praloy'. In the series, he has used fantastic songs and background music. If Nusraat Faria's Menka becomes a part, it's already poised to be a hit. However, the engagement of this 10-episode series could have been stronger. In an attempt to extend the series, Raj has sometimes lost track of the storyline in various places. He has tried to capture the local dialect of the Sundarbans in the actors' dialogue delivery, yet not everyone has pulled it off effectively. Aside from that, the use of blue lenses for the eyes of women in Sundarbans, especially Shampa, creates an eerie sensation for viewers. Nevertheless, 'Praloy' is bound to engage viewers on the whole again. Finally, Raj has left a hint about a third disappearance, adding a twist to the end.
