Movie Summarize:

The Story of '83" is not an unknown tale; everyone knows the background of this story. This story, a 22-yard metaphor, has been brought to life on screen by Kabir Khan. The beginning of this story was a time when India was not given much importance in the cricket world. This story is not just about an 8-hour battle of bat and ball on a 22-yard pitch. Beyond those 22 yards lies the story of the heroic journey of a group of young men who transformed the disrespect and neglect, the ultimate disregard of a whole nation's Antarctica or global apathy, into honor in the cricketing world. Director Kabir Khan has presented that metaphor on the screen.

Kabir Singh's '83 is not just a movie; it's a time machine. A time machine that transports us from 1983 to 2021. Despite knowing the beginning to the end of this story, director Kabir Singh has managed to keep the audience engaged for two and a half hours, unleashing one thrilling moment after another. He has brought to life the story of a generation that still lives in the colorful frames of 2011 – Dhoni, Yuvraj, Sachin, and Virat's accomplishments. Kabir Khan has reintroduced us to the identity behind the glory that was woven with the threads of that great reputation, connecting '83 with the spirit of Lord's.

Behind the 22-yard battle of cricket in this tale, Kabir Khan has intertwined the narratives of Kapil Dev, Srikanth, and Mohinder's team that fought the battle of pride for Assam, presenting that saga on the screen. The script and dialogues are the USP of '83.

A team whose captain isn't fluent in English. In the quest to find the right words to provide suitable answers to questions, they stumble in strong embarrassment. Yet, not a trace of fear crosses the face of any of England's run-making cricketers when facing the British media. Whether it's Vivian Richards or Clive Lloyd, they shut their mouths with their bat and ball. No one dares speak against his team. Not even the media in his own country had confidence in them. Those moments of humiliation are repeatedly depicted in small, poignant scenes and heartfelt conversations, presented to the audience by the director. The media's disrespectful questions, the manager's loss of composure while seeking Man Singh's presence at Lord's, all contribute sufficiently to ignite the passion of cricket enthusiasts.

A team has won the World Cup with their cricketing prowess. This film showcases not only that victory but also the intricate details of that exceptional triumph. Descriptions like the one about the West Indies bowlers in the commentary box, 'His height is 7 feet. He bounces the ball from about 2 to 2.5 feet above the batsman. And then he jumps about 2-3 feet on top of that to deliver the ball. And now, Bataye, at 12 feet, he tosses a delivery that can almost touch the clouds!' Challenges for Kapil Dev's team have come one after another, just like this, on the screen. The dressing room speeches, Kapil Dev's comedic speech on the team bus, and the scene where Srikanth provides a fitting response to the British media in a match, all stand out. The cricket scenes in the cricket film are a seamless blend of reality, history, and sophisticated visual effects.

Without mentioning him, talking about '83' would be incomplete, and he is none other than Ranveer Singh. However, on the screen, it's only Kapil Dev who truly shines. The gait, speech, signature Nataraj shot, the language of his eyes conveying more than words ever could, and the irony of not speaking English... each frame of the film is a reflection of Ranveer's portrayal of Kapil. Even more challenging for Ranveer than playing Bajirao or Khilji was encapsulating the life of Kapil Dev, because there are no concrete references for historical characters, but Kapil Dev exists. Alongside the flesh-and-blood Kapil Dev, there's the cinematic Kapil, portrayed by Ranveer Singh.

The rest of the exceptional cast of this remarkable film also stands out. Pankaj Tripathi is extraordinary, much like Barabara. Deepika Padukone didn't have much to do in this film, but her presence exudes a charming beauty and infectious laughter that captivates the audience.
