In Bollywood, the combination of horror and comedy is something that's not often seen. Nevertheless, nowadays directors are starting to give importance to this genre as well, creating new trends. The evidence of this was seen a few days ago in the trailer of the film 'Ruhi'. However, can all films really succeed in capturing the essence of horror and comedy? After watching the trailer of the movie 'Ruhi', even though she got intrigued, the real verdict lies in the complete experience. Let's unfold this matter.

Two boys from a small town, Vaira Pandi (Rajkumar Rao) and Kattanni (Varun Sharma), engage in a conversation with Ruhi (Janhvi Kapoor). But is it just a conversation? Rather, these three individuals become entangled in a series of events together. Here, the entanglement is the soul or spirit! And this entanglement is the true story of the movie. The narrative continues to unfold through the liberation from this entanglement. It remains in a state where it's sometimes supernatural and at other times, within the realm of comedy movie conventions.

Director Hardik Mehta, however, has made considerable efforts to blend the supernatural and comedic elements together. But the problem is, he hasn't managed to clearly define which direction he wants to take more risks in. This issue becomes most evident in this two-hour movie. On the other hand, the presentation of the background of the character Ruhi is quite weak. It's never clear where this Ruhi comes from or where she goes. The overall character development also remains somewhat underpowered in the hands of the director.

In terms of acting, Rajkumar Rao shines the brightest among the three. However, even Rajkumar's charm and character find a good match with the film 'Stree'. Often, it feels like I'm not even watching the movie 'Stree'! On the other hand, Varun Sharma's comedic timing is fantastic. Nevertheless, Janhvi Kapoor appears quite fragile in this movie. Her expression didn't quite align with every dialogue. However, she has managed to excel in the two item numbers, displaying a special dance performance reminiscent of the iconic Sridevi. This is what we get from Janhvi in this movie.

The movie's editing isn't quite a strong point. While trimming the film might make it a bit shorter and help maintain the pacing of the storytelling, it could also enhance the overall cinematic experience. The two-hour runtime doesn't equate to a wasteful two hours.

Ultimately, it can be said that the trailer had sparked a certain hope for Ruhi. However, the entire movie couldn't maintain that level of expectation. Even if you don't watch this film, you won't be missing out on something significant!
